Psyche
Total mentality of all conscious and unconscious
Persona
The mask, identities we assume because of the socially prescribed roles we play
Ego
Conscious personality, what one thinks of oneself, the genuine me. The ego has commune with collective unconscious
Self
The total personality, the unifying core of the psyche that ensures a balance of conscious and unconscious forces
Personal unconscious
Was conscious but is no longer there. Potentially from repression.
Collective unconscious
Storehouse of ancestor experiences dating to beginning of man kind. Biological heritage, birth right.
Libido
Psychic energy, which he imbued with less sexual meaning than Freud
Entropy
Is the equalization of differences in order to bring about a balance or equilibrium. Balancing maleness with femaleness is one example.

Close to freuds Id. Worst of us. Doesn’t want people to know we do.
Anima
Representation of woman in man. Man has a feminine side. Unconscious feminine figure
Self
Central archetype, embodies harmony and balance of the various opposing elements of the psyche
Characteristics of archetypes
Predominantly emotional. Manifest through symbols images and behaviours. Not concrete. They exist as potentials, genetic dispositions. How you are equipped…like shoes. Running shoes for paths, rubber boots for bogging, hiking shoes for climbing..etc
Synchronicity
Awareness both at the level of psychoc and reality at the same time.
No cause and effect relationship between.
Saw the phenomenon as communication between external and internal events, not casual.
Evidence of the collective unconsciousness.
Story of son having down syndrome
Symbols
Collective and individual. Tattoos. Star of David. Cross etc.
Active imagination
Explaining for things in your life with symbols. Why did I date that jerk? Etc.
Dreams
Important messages with a wise unconscious. Understanding these messages was much more straightforward than Freud. Fosters a dialogue between conscious and unconscious and is an important step in the integration of the two
Personality typology…such as introversion and extroversion
Human being tend to one of two fundamentally different general attitudes. Attitude is the readiness of the psyche to act in a certain way
Feeling
One of the four psychological functions.
Evaluates how experiences strike us, wether they are suitable to us or not; judgement that is entirely subjective. Includes mood.
Intuition
One of four psychological functions
Suggest or something seems to have come from and where it may be going. Instinctive apprehension having an unconscious origin and all tangible basis. When you understand something and cannot explain why or how we understand
Thinking
One of four psychological functions
Determining what is present and interprets its meaning. It connects ideas with one another to form intellectual concepts reach solutions
Sensing
One of four psychological functions
Determines that something is present, it is the same as sensory perceptions of sight sound smell taste and common touch. Children
Anima and animus
Confronting the anima brings with it the problem of relating to the collective unconscious and becoming engulfed in it. Ego inflation or ego impotence
Body
Mind and body are together and the same.
Will
Has power over conscious thought and cannot influence preconditions or unconscious thought.
