View of the person
Natural feelings of inferiority that appear very early in life and require compensation thereafter.
He cared a lot for people, did not see them as a collection of ids egos or Freudian drives.

All behavior has a social meaning
A group (family) has its own social system including methods of relating and ways of communicating power. His emphasis is psychosocial rather than psychosexual.
All behavior has purpose and is goal directed
Behavior is always performed with a purpose (teleological) and that people are always moving toward significant goal that is the key to understanding them.
Unity and pattern
People as unified, indivisible wholes, each with a unique pattern of behavior is designed to reach a goal
Behaviour is the result of our subjective perceptions
We actually create our script, produce, direct, and act our roles. We develop our own unique perspectives from which we see ourselves in relation to others
What happens when person develops well?
They form a strong synthesis of self interest and social interest so that whatever is done for the group is also done for the individual

View on humanitarianism
Opposed violence of all forms and promoted social interest in the individual and in the group.
To adler mental health implied socially affirmative action. He also argued that social responsibility was fundamental to the practice of psychology.

War theory
War bases high value on physical strength, and therefore in warlike countries the inequality of women is greater.
Adler had a strong pursuit of social equality and acceptance of differences predate multiculturalism

Work
Must show an ability to be interested in work. Here social feeling takes the form of cooperative activity for the benefit of others. Individuals who perform useful work not only provide themselves with a livelihood but obtain a sense of what society values, for example, industry over laziness. And it is through work that individuals assist in the progress of the developing community
Love
The ability to be more concerned for a partner than for oneself. Prerequisite for love include childhood preparation for a two-person task, continuing consciousness of equal worth of both partners, and the capacity for mutual devotion
Law of movement
The direction taken by the person that originates in his or her own ability to exercise free choice in fully exploiting personal capabilities and resources

We create our own personality.
