What is a vehicle pursuit?
An event involving one or more law enforcement officer attempting to apprehend a suspected or actual violator of the law in a vehicle
What must you have in order to initiate a vehicle pursuit?
Probable cause to believe the driver or occupants of the vehicle have committed an infraction or misdemeanor in your presence or that a felony was committed
What happens when a motorcycle unit initiates a vehicle pursuit?
They must turn over to the first marked four wheel Police vehicle.
How many Police units can be involved in a pursuit?
Only two
Are Vans and SUV units authorized to be in a pursuit?
Yes
Driving on the wrong side of a divided highway is
Generally prohibited

The driver of the unit who initiated the pursuit or assumed it from another agency
