Strikes
Strikes prohibited among factory and mine workers, maximising war production.
*many scots resented the government for using DORA to make legitimate protest appear unpatriotic

Certain regions of the country had strict curfews by which people had to be home. Took pressure off police forces.
*scots felt like this restricted their freedom, they felt oppressed
Censorship
Censorship of newspapers was introduced, and some anti-war newspapers were closed down, prevented morale being lowered
*government censorship of the press was seen as undemocratic
Loitering
Hanging around railway bridges and shipyards was forbidden. Used to stop people spying on military matters.
*this restricted scots movements and stopped them from their daily interactions
British Summer Time
Introduced to give farmers more daylight working hours to produce more food.
- distrupted established routines, scots disliked change
Alcohol
Beer was watered down, rounds of drinks were illegal. Prevented people from being drunk and potentially leaking military secrets.
*scots viewed it as uncessary infringements on their lives
