Leader iPad:
• List 3 reasons to access the Onboard Leader iPad during a flight.
2.2 Leader iPad
The Leader iPad is for use on board and contains the following information:
- Required electronic forms (e.g. flight report and fatigue report)
- Cabin Crew Operational Notice Tracker (CCON Tracker)
• Virgin Australia manuals, controlled communications and PA
Amendments Document via the VINE or GoodReader App
Cabin Crew Operational Notice (CCON):
• How long does information contained within a CCON remain current?
2.4.2 CCON Format
CCONs are sequentially numbered to assist identification of the current issue. Check boxes are used to indicate the applicable CCON type the CCON item is in reference to.
New CCON items will be issued to all cabin crew to read/acknowledge. If crew need to reference a previous CCON item, crew shall refer to the CCON Tracker.
The most recent additions to the CCON will be in the ‘Latest Items’ and any items, which were issued 7 days or more prior, can be identified under ‘Previous Items’.
If a CCON is required to be reissued, the word ‘Reissue’ will appear bracketed next to the heading and a change bar will be present on the right-hand side of the additional/changed text.
The CCON Tracker includes a Removed Items table. The table records the removal of CCON items and the reason for removal (e.g. manual incorporation, reminder).
The CCON Tracker includes a Supplementary Operations Table, with a link to the latest issue of: • Operational manuals revisions • Cabin crew documentation such as CATS • Cabin crew briefs • Service form updates.
Safety Reporting:
• List the 3 reports contained within the Virgin Australia Safety Reporting system.

- When would an Injury/Illness Report be used?
- Within what timeframe must a Fatigue Report be lodged?
- If completing a Witness Report, what other report must also be submitted?
2.7 Safety Reporting
The Virgin Australia Safety Reporting System includes:
• Safety Report (VAGP-SS-006)
• Injury/Illness Report (VAGP-SS-008)
• Fatigue Report (VAGP-SS-019).
2.8 Safety Report
Use a Safety Report (VAGP-SS-006) to report:
• Safety-related events affecting Virgin Australia, its staff, passengers, equipment or property
• Suggestions for improvement of safety-related procedures or practices.
2.9 Injury/Illness Report
All contractor and passenger injuries shall be reported on an Injury/Illness Report (VAGP-SS-008). Completed reports shall be sent to the Safety Systems department within 24 hours of injury/illness
2.10 Reporting Fatigue
Crew members who experience fatigue or a potentially fatiguing situation shall report it via a Fatigue Report.
Reports relating to fatigue-removals or access to post-duty fatigue provisions shall be submitted within 72 hours (or sooner depending on the time of removal - see Cabin Crew Duty of Care Process).
2.11 Witness Report
The Witness Report (VAGP-SS-004) is designed to be used in conjunction with the Safety Report (VAGP-SS-006).
Drug and Alcohol Management Program (DAMP):
• List 4 types of duty that must see a cabin crew member abstain from drinking alcohol a minimum of 8 hours prior to sign on.
Responsible Service of Alcohol:
- Describe the only time alcohol can be served whilst on the ground?
- When serving in the economy cabin, how many drinks can you give a guest at one time?
3.2 DAMP
As a minimum, cabin crew shall abstain from consuming alcohol (whether or not an alcoholic beverage) at the time period of 8 hours immediately before commencing:
• Standby
• Airport/Available duty
• Training
• Rostered sign-on time for flight duty
• Any duty or function preparatory to acting as a crew member
3.8 Responsible Service of Alcohol
Alcohol shall not be served to economy passengers prior to take off
• During boarding, the only alcohol to be provided shall be:
- Business: Champagne
- Premium: Sparkling Wine
- Requests for other alcoholic beverages shall be politely declined until after take-off
• Only alcohol that is provided on board, shall be consumed on board; passengers shall not take any leftover alcohol off the aircraft with them.
3.8.1 Serving Alcoholic Drinks
When serving passengers alcohol crew shall adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) guidelines in all cabins:
• Ensure beverage is cracked/opened prior to delivery to passenger
• Monitor amount of drinks provided to passenger:
- Economy/Business: Ensure only one alcoholic beverage is
served per person each time
• Communicate to fellow crew and Cabin Manager (CM) if passenger has had multiple drinks to ensure all crew members are aware when serving additional beverages.
