Doctrine 9 - Restated
We believe that continued obedient faith in Christ provides continuance in a state of salvation.
Conditions of Continuance

Development of Intellectual Faith
use of a soundly, saved reason to know more, through reading, discussions and current topics.
Development of Trusting faith
confidence in knowing that God is faithful and can be trusted. This faith has a teleological focus - end reward.
Conditions of Continuance - Benefits
We have communication with God the Father We desire to follow His will with pleasure We have a power that is available We have confidence in God's presence We seek more of Him We participate in His Divine Nature We have joy in the Spirit We have the Holy Spirit working within We separate from sin, consecrate to God
Backsliding - William Booth
A large part of our direct walk with God or successful walk has to do with our continued obedience. Or the faithfulness and attention in which we feed our souls in our daily spiritual walk has a big part in our experience. The tendency of fire is to go out.
Apostatsy
