We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.

Apostasy
Falling away, withdrawal, or defection. To turn ones back upon, to reject.
Backsliding
Failure to be obedient
“Falling away from God after having been saved by him”
Characteristics of backsliding
Gradual
Secret at first but evident in outward life
Partial or entire
Unsaved people are not backsliders
Failure to maintain sustained prayer life
Continual acts of willful sin
Heart becomes cold to Godly prompting
