How to diagnose scabies
skin scrapings of the affected area
What is norwegian scabies?
A hyper infestation presenting with crusts, common in immunocompromised pt. Secondary infection is a problem
Treatment for scabies
Permethrin all over the skin except scalp overnight
OR
malathion for 24 hours
What is aqueous cream used for in scabies?
Relieve itching - this may persist for weeks after infection is cleared
Do we use bensy benzoate to treat scabies
not any more - skin irritation
