Due to CORE’s members moving to more violent ways during the 60’s, James Farmer resigned from CORE in 1966. Two Years later, they followed the SNCC and expelled there white members - making them just as radical.

Angered by the slow pace of MLK’s tactic of peaceful protest, and the Shooting of James Meredith - they followed and embraced Malcolm X’s way of self defence. They also expelled white members from joining their organisation - making them a much more radicalised party.
