Q
What to do before?
A
- Deconflict ship activities
- Conduct Check 4, pre-ops brief
- Prepare RAMS and read up OCP
- Check CAT status and sea state conditions (Tidal stream < 1kn/ sea state < 2)
- Inform IOC (1 day before and just before the op) and request clearance
- Pipe “No starting of main engine, no transmission of all UW equipment, no dumping of gash overboard. All heads are out of bounds less mine hunting heads, divers working below.”
- Fly alpha flag and interco romeo yankee
- Prep seaboat for launch
- Ensure shark rifle man close up on boat deck with 1 carbine and 1 box of 2 magazines, 32 ball, 8 tracers
- Ensure deck officer and dive officer (from NDU) is present
- Ensure LOTO (Sonar electrical supply so sonar mess and CIC [Ship office UPS]/ Main Engine [MER battery]/ Waste water pump [MER]/ Septic Pump [MER]/ Doppler log [CIC]/ Echo Sounder [CIC]/ VSP hydraulic pump [AER]/ EM Log [bridge]/ Fire pump 1&2 [ECR])
- Ensure no dumping of gash over board
- Call ECR to ensure all heads are locked expect mine hunting heads
- Call ECR/Bridge to ensure all 4 main engines are off and clutched out
- Ensure functionality of decom chamber
- Ensure air reservoirs fully charged and chamber air and oxygen supplies connected and tested

What to do during?
A
- Reminder pipe every 15 mins
- Check CAT status and safety of personnel
- Divers to conduct checks on their gears and equipment
- At night (Turn of all deck lights/ Turn off bridge light/ Cover all portholes to minimize ambient light/ Turn on red-white-red on the mast/ Avoid opening doors and hatches on seaward side)

- Pipe “The restriction to main engines, underwater equipment, dumping of gashes overboard and use of heads is now lifted, divers working below completed.”
- Inform IOC
- Haul down flag
