Furosemide mechanism:
Loop diuretic. Blocks NaK2Cl pump
Bumetanide mechanism:
Loop diuretic. Blocks NaK2Cl pump
Chlorthalidone mechanism:
Thiazide. Blocks NaCl pump in distal tubule
Hydrochlorothiazide mechanism:
Blocks Na/Cl pump in distal tubule. Note, lose K+ too b/c Na/K antiport further down pathway
Metalazone mechanism:
Thiazide. Blocks Na/Cl pump in distal tubule
Sprinolactone mechanism:
Inhibits aldosterone, so potassium saring by stopping the sodium/potassium anti port that it would normally cause to happen
Amiloride mechanism:
Blocks Enac, so Na/K antiport doesnt happen and potassium is spared
Triamteren mechanism:
Blocks Enac, so Na/K antiport doesnt happen and potassium is spared
Desmopressin mechanism:
acts like vesopressin
Demeocycline mechanism:
ADH antagonist, so water let out
Mannitol mechanism:
duh
Acetazolamide mechanism:
No bicarb resorption in proximal tubule. Urine is alkaline
