Bumetanide
Inhibits the NKCC2 pump in the ascending thick loop of Henle.
Chlorthalidone
Thiazide diuretic which inhibits NaCl transporter in the distal convoluted tubule
AE: hyperglycemia from suppressing B cell insulin release, hypokalemia and natremia. Hyper uricemia, lipidemia glycemia
Hydrochlorothiazide
Thiazide diuretic which inhibits NaCl transporter in the distal convoluted tubule
AE: hyperglycemia from suppressing B cell insulin release, hypokalemia and natremia. Hyper uricemia, lipidemia glycemia
Metalazone
Thiazide diuretic which inhibits NaCl transporter in the distal convoluted tubule
AE: hyperglycemia from suppressing B cell insulin release, hypokalemia and natremia. Hyper uricemia, lipidemia glycemia
Spironolactone
Inhibits aldosterone receptor preventing Na/K atpase in the distal convoluted tubule shown to improve survival in patients with heart failure.
AE: gynecomastia, hyperkalemia and chloremia
Amiloride
Inhibits Na exchange for Ka nd H in the cortical collecting duct. Less K wasting
Triamterene
Inhibits Na exchange for Ka nd H in the cortical collecting duct. Less K wasting
Vasopressin
Naturally occurring hormone made in the posterior pituitary to produce aquaporins via G protiein receptor Gsalpha leading to increased water uptake and more concentrated urine.
Desmopressin
A synthetic vasopressin administered nasally which is used for bed wetting and diabetes insipidus by recruiting aquaporins via Gsalpha receptors.
Demecocycline
an antibiotic with some affect as an ADH agonist
Mannitol
Is an osmotic diuretic because it cannot be reuptaken by the kidney. draws out a lot of water as it is excreted.
Acetazolamide
Inhibits carbonic anhydrase preventing the production of carbonate. which limits substrate for the Na/H antiporter. Used for glaucoma and to produce urinary alkalinization.
Allopurinol
inhibits xanthine oxidase reducing uric acid formation.
Probenicid
Inhibits organic acid transporters to facillitate excretion and inhibits urate reabsorbtion
