Uses:
Meds do not combine:
Med Allergy contraindications:
Adverse effects:
HTC, chlorthalidone (longer acting and cardioprotective), indapamide (lozol)
used for: HTN, HF, Edema, DI, HTN with osteoporosis ( reduce ca excretion and stimulates osteoblasts to build bones)
Meds do not combine: lithium (K decrease, increases lithium)
Med Allergy contraindications: sulfa
do not give if GFR is less than 30
Adverse effects: hyperglycemia in DM, elevated LDL and CHOL, precipitate gout, hypo k

Amiloride (Midamor)
Triamterene (Dyrenium)
uses:
Mineralocorticoid Receptor Antagonist (Aldactone and Inspra)
HTN with sulfa allergies
watch in out: renal impaired/DM (increase K)
Spironolactone (Aldactone)
Eplernone (Inspra)
used for: HTN, HF, hirsutism
Risks: gynecomastia (increased breast), also risk for benign and malignant tumors.

uses: HF, cirrhosis, CKD, HTN
LaSIX (lasts 6hrs in your pts system)
mech: loop of henle more potent than HCT
types: lasix, bumetanide (bumex)
contri: sulfa allergies
best for HF pts (monitor wt at home)
AE: hypo k, mag, na, cl, pancreatitis, jaudince, and rash,
ototoxicity: if large doses of lasix are administered too quickly.
