  • A type of histogram

- Shows the frequency of a characteristic to illustrate the mean and the spread of data

What is a Normal Distribution?

A
  • Occurs when the majority of scores are close to the mean with a decreasing number above or below the mean
  • Data is roughly symmetrical
  • Data forms a bell curve
  • Mean, median and mode normally the same

  • Occurs when there is a cluster of scores around the lower end of the data set
  • The curve has a tail on the right
  • The mean is higher than the median and mode
  • Most scores are below the mean
