What is a distance time graph?
Tells us how far something has traveled in a certain amount of time the distance of an object moving in a straight line (from a starting position) varies over time.
What information do distance time graphs show?
.Constant speed
.How fats an object is travelling
.If an object is stationary
.Change in speed
What is the calculation for speed in a distance time graph?
Depends on the question:
Speed=gradient= rise/ run
Speed= distance/ time
What does a gradient of an line do?
Tells us the speed a object is travelling at
What does it mean when the gradient is steeper?
The object is moving faster
What doe sit mean when the gradient is flat?
The object is stationary
What does it mean if their is a negative gradient?
Returning to start or decreasing speed
