A

Simultaneous activation of coagulation and fibrinolysis, leading to microvascular thrombosis and subsequent consumption of clotting factors and platelets

FBC - thrombocytopenia
Clotting studies - prolonged PT and aPTT
Fibrinogen levels - decreased levels
D- dimer - elevated
Blood cultures - identifying and treating underlying cause
