Where is the carotid body located?
The bifurcation of the common carotid artery
What are the anterior arteries of the external carotid artery?
The superior thyroid artery, the lingual artery, and facial artery
What are the posterior arteries of the external carotid artery?
The ascending pharyngeal, the occipital artery, and the posterior auricular artery
What are the terminal arteries of the external carotid artery?
Maxillary and superficial temporal arteries
What artery passes between the anterior and middle scalenes?
The subclavian artery
Where does the left subclavian artery come off of?
Aortic Arch
Where does the right subclavian artery come off of?
Brachiocephalic Trunk
What are the branches of the Subclavian Artery?
Vertebral, Thyrocervical trunk, and internal thoracic trunk
What are the branches of the thyrocervical trunk?
Inferior thyroid, Transvers cervical artery, ascending cervical, and supracapsular artery
What vein runs anterior to the anterior scalene muscle?
The subclavian vein

The facial nerve

Branchiomotor to the cricothyroid muscle
What does the recurrent laryngeal nerve carry?
Branchiomotor to all intrinsic muscles of the larynx (except the cricothyroid) and general somatosensory from the larynx inferior to the vocal cords

Injury to the superior cervical ganglion and/or the sympathetic pathway to the head
