Disposition
An underlying tendency to have an attitude; a part of your character or personality.
Open-mindedness
A disposition to consider different ideas, beliefs, points of view, approaches, and assumptions.
Arseholery
The disposition to be an ‘arsehole’ - to score points off people to look good or make them look bad; rather than constructively move arguments forward, open to change and giving credit where it is due.
Charity
The disposition to apply the Principle of Charity regardless of how you feel about the arguer or conclusion.
Epistemic Humility
The attitude that you could always be wrong, and so are open to correction or more learning, even when you are confident of your beliefs.
Discretion
The disposition to only use Critical Thinking when it is appropriate, productive, and likely to help, not hurt, other people.
Epistemic Courage
The disposition to take emotional risks and leave yourself vulnerable in order to improve your knowledge.
Ruthlessness
The disposition to continually improve the quality and cohesion of your own set of beliefs; do not be ruthless with others.
Inquisitiveness
The disposition to continually seek answers, and to be imaginative, and curious in one’s thinking.
Bullshit Sensitivity
a disposition to detect and reduce your own bullshit or reliance on unreliable statements.
Bullshit
an indifference to whether statements are true or false.
