A patient presents with a sudden onset of self-limiting large bowel diarrhea. Upon PE, p had no other clinical signs, no vomiting and owner reports p has a normal diet. I suspect this is an episode of acute colitis. What dx should I complete and what are my treatment recommendations?
fecal flotation w/ centrifuge (deworm as well), recommend a highly digestable GI diet, add FIBER (psyllium husk) to the siet and prescribe a probitoic such as fortilora or probiable
What are some clinical signs of Trichuris vulpis (Whipworm) ?
in chronic cases: hemorrhagic typhilitis or colitis
Adult worms are often found in the cecum and large intestine.
