Affective disorder:
Broad range/ group of illness affecting mood, mild to severe
Main symptoms of depression:
Loss of interest on pleasure in all/ most activities
Depressed mood for most of the day, nearly every day
Other symptoms of depression:
Weight loss/ gain
Insomnia or excess sleeping
Suicidal thoughts
Psychotic disorder:
Seeing it believing something that isn’t there or believing things that aren’t true
Schizophrenia main symptoms: (3)
Psychosis- loss of contact with reality
Hallucinations/ confusion
Disorganised speech
Positive symptoms of schizophrenia:
New behaviours=
Hallucinations/ delusions
Negative symptoms of schizophrenia:
loss of normal functions=
Reduction in speech
Lack of outward emotion
Affective disorder:
Affect the way you think and feel
Anxiety
Anxiety main symptoms:
Immediate fear and anxiety
Fear is disproportionate to dangers posed
Persistent distress
