it effects the heart and blood vessels
what is skeletal disease?
diet related disease which effects the strength of our bones and teeth
what is iron deficiency?
it is a diet related heath condition caused by the lack of iron in the blood
what is type 2 diabetes?
too much glucose in the bloodstream
what causes obesity?
not being in energy balance
what causes cardiovascular disease?
a lot of salt in the diet which can change the consistency of the blood which can cause the heart to work faster
what causes skeletal disease?
a lack of vitamin d or sunlight
what causes iron deficiency?
if there isn’t enough iron or vitamin c in the diet
what causes type 2 diabetes?
if you eat foods with a high amount of sugar and starch
what happens to the body when you have obesity?
the store of fat will build up under the skin
what happens to the body when you have cardiovascular disease?
the arteries becomes blocked by fatty deposits which prevents blood flow
what happens to the body when you have skeletal disease?
the bones are not strong enough and start to bend under the weight of our bodies
what happens to the body when you have iron deficiency?
lack of energy tiredness pale inner eyelids pale complexion weak, ridged finger nails muscle weakness feeling cold
what happens to the body if you have type 2 diabetes?
feeling thirsty feeling tired and weak weight loss blurred vision frequent urination skin may not heal properly
how can obesity be prevented?
you need a energy balance, so the food you eat you need to exercise to burn it off
how can cardiovascular disease be prevented?
by following dietary guide lines reducing sakt intake not smoking reduce stress levels limiting alcohol
how can skeletal disease be prevented?
having enough calcium and minerals
exposing your skin to sunlight
avoid concentrated juice
Clean teeth twice a day
how can iron deficiency be prevented?
make sure the diet you eat contains a lot of iron rich foods
how can type 2 diabetes be prevented?
follow dietary guide lines
loose weight if necessary
take regular exercise
limit alcohol
