What is a stereotype? Give an example.

A

A stereotype is when another person or thing matches a fixed idea that someone has about that other person. The other person is labelled in a certain way. e.g. That guy is a jock or a nerd.

What is discrimination? Give an example.

A

Discrimination is when people are judged because of race, gender, religeon or wealth. e.g. Coloured boys are good at rugby.

What does it mean to be biased? Give an example.

A

Bias is when you favour one thing above another when you should not. e.g. A referee was biased towards the Bulls and gave them extra points.
