  • Nelson Mandela, leader of ANC, devoted his life to fighting anti-Black racism in South Africa, arrested in 1962 and served almost 30 years refusing freedom until Apartheid abolished. Due to pressure, in 1991, the government was forced to abolished apartheid, then 1994 held elections where Nelson Mandela became president.
