Rostal
At the front of the head.
The eyes are rostral to the ears.
Oral
The mouth region.
The oral cavity includes the tongue, teeth, and gums.
Occipital
Related to the Back of the head.
The occipital bone forms the base of the skull at the back.
Temporal
Refers to the sides of the head, near the temples.
The temporal artery runs along the temple area.
The temporal lobe helps process sound and language.
Basilar
Refers to the bottom (base) of the skull.
The basilar artery supplies blood to the brainstem.
Frontal
Related to the forehead and front part of skull
The frontal lobe controls problem-solving and motor skills.
Nasal
Refers to the nose area.
The nasal cavity filters and humidifies the air we breathe.
