Volar (palmar)

A

Refers to the palm side of the hand and the sole of the foot.
Sometimes used interchangeably with palmar (hand) and plantar (foot).
The fingerprints are on the volar side of the hand (palm).

Refers specifically to the bottom of the foot (sole).
The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue on the sole of the foot.
