Procedure

A

Told it was study of ‘accuracy of people perception’

3 envelopes with photos of people their age
- very, moderately, or un attractive
- half - shown same gender, half - shown opposite
- photos, gender, and order received all random

  • rate each photo on 27 personality traits, 6 point scale
  • survey on person’s marital, parental, and overall happiness
