What do we start with?
A
= stock solution- 100% concentration
= do 1 part water 9 parts stock solution- 10%
= 1 part 10% solution 9 parts water- 1%
= 1 part 1% solution, 9 parts water- 0.1% concentration
= each time mix thoroughly

What are the advantages of doing this?
A
= allows to make solutions with low concentrations- without having to measure it out small volumes
= improves accuratley

What is the calculation?
A
= Concentration of stock solution x volume of stock solution = concentration of solution making x voluem of new solution

What is the 2nd calculation?
A
= volume 2 = volume 1 + distilled water to dilute with
