Digestive, respiratory, urogenital anatomy Flashcards
Parotid gland
Below the ear underneath the cheek
Mesentery
Thin layer connecting small intestines to each other
Greater omentum
Greater curve of the stomach, goes over the small intestine like an apron
Omental bursa
Space between folds of the greater omentum
Gastrosplenic ligament
Connection between stomach and spleen, within mesentery
Lesser omentum
Bottom of liver to lesser curvature of the stomach
Gastrohepatic ligament
Between liver and stomach in the mesentery
Hepatoduodenal ligament
Attaches between liver and duodenum within mesentery
Mesoduodenum
Where mesentery connects to duodenum
Falciform ligament
Between the middle lobes of the liver
Round ligament
Left over from umbilical vein, comes off superior end of falciform ligament
Mesocolon
Mesentery below the colon
Fundus
Curve of the stomach
Body
Major part of the stomach
Pylorus
Region right before pyloric spinchter
Pyloric sphincter
Where the stomach meets the small intestine
Cardiac sphincter
Where the esophagus and the stomach connects- keeps food in stomach beneath liver
Ileocecal valve
The opening in the cecum
Hepatic duct
Comes off the liver
Cystic duct
Comes off gallbladder
Common bile duct
Where cystic and hepatic duct meet, long duct
Hepatic portal vein
From liver to stomach or spleen, filters blood. Not colored, with the mesentery under the liver
Ampulla of Vater
Common bile duct meets pancreatic duct at the duodenum
Spleen
Under the stomach on the right side- dark brown
