A
A developments, stage of intestinal maturation; activation of the process closes or decreases neonatal intestinal permeability to macromolecules.

When does gut closure occurs in puppies?
A
Begins as early as 4-8hrs after birth and is complete 16-24hrs.
This is earlier than many other species.
