Who arrested Peter?
King Herod
(12:1, 3)
“It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. … When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread.”
What did the Church do while Peter was in prison?
Prayed for him
(12:5)
“So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.”
In prison, where was Peter sleeping?
Between two soldiers, bound with two chains
(12:6)
“The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance.”
How did Peter get out of prison?
An angel came, the chains fell off, and the angel led him out through city gates that opened by themselves
(12:7, 9-10)
“Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. ‘Quick, get up!’ he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. … Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.”

He knocked on the door but the servant Rhoda did not open it.

“Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, ‘Peter is at the door!’”
After the Holy Spirit told the disciples to set apart Barnabas and Saul, what did they do?
They fasted, prayed, laid hands on them, and sent them off.

“So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
Who was Bar-Jesus?
A Jewish sorcerer and false prophet and also an attendant to the proconsul. He was also call Elymas.
(13:6-7)
“They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.”
Why did Sergius Paulus send for Barnabas and Saul?
He wanted to hear the word of God.

What did Sergius Paulus do when Bar-Jesus became blind?
He believed and was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.

“When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.”
