What are finite verbs?
A
Verbs that have definite relation with subject or noun- usually the main verb

What are non-finite verbs?
A
Cannot be main verb; used as nouns, adverbs and adjectives

What types of non-finite verbs are there?
A
- Gerunds: When a verb is used as a noun e.g. ‘He loves camping’, here the verb camping is used as a noun
- Infinitives: When a verb is used as a noun however has ‘to’ before it e.g. ‘I need to go to sleep’, here the verb phrase ‘to sleep’ acts as a noun
- Participle: The sleeping dog caused a delay- the non-finite verbs that have ‘ing’ or ‘ed’ as suffixes and cause the verb to come an adjective are called Participles
