What are the uses of imperfect
- To describe something you used to do or would happen (like a previous routine). Used to/would - every + period of time (every summer, every weekend, every Friday, etc.)
i.e.Yo hablaba con él todos los días. (I used to talk to him everyday.)
- Was/Were/While “ing” verb in the past
i.e. Tú bailabas toda la noche. (You were dancing all night.)
3.Describing someone or something (tener/ser)
i.e Él era un tipo alto.(He was a tall guy.)
What are the uses of preterite
- Single moments, specific moments (last night, last summer, that day, that weekend, etc)
2.Completed actions, simple past tense (played, watched, saw, ate, slept, etc.)
