Give 3 doses of polyethylene glycol q 4hours with a stomach tube
2 warm water enemas
What are potential sequelae of constipation?
Impaction
Obstipation (complete/severe obstipation)
Megacolon
How can constipation be treated?
High fibre diet
Enemas
Oral laxatives (lactulose)
Manual evacuation under anaesthesia or surgery if megacolon
