Diagrams & Symbols Flashcards
What kind of circuit is this?
a series circuit - each output device is connected one after the other
What kind of circuit is this?
Parallel circuit. Each output device is connected separately to the power source
What kind of circuit is this?
Closed or complete. The power can get all the way around the circuit so the output device works.
What kind of circuit is this?
An open or incomplete circuit. The electricity cannot get around the path to light the bulb.
What kind of a circuit is this?
A closed or complete circuit. The switch is shut so the electricity can flow through the circle
What kind of circuit is this?
Open or incomplete. The switch is open and energy cannot complete its path through the wire and back to the energy source. The light will not work.
What is the difference between these two circuits?
The one on the left is open or incomplete,
The one on the right is closed or complete.
The OPEN one on the left will not work.
The CLOSED one on the right the electricity can travel in the circle and the output device will work.
