What are the diagnosis Structural exams that are performed?
Cervical OA/AA Cervical AA, C2-7 Thoracics : upper T1 -T4 Thoracics: lower T5-12 Lumbars Ribs
What type of mechanics and motion does the OA joint display?
Fryettes rule: Type-I like Mechanics (rotation and Sidebending are always opposite direction)
30-50% Cervical Flexion/extension
What positions is the OA joint assessed?
Always first in neutral Flexed extension Diagnose always in the position of ease Ex: (OAFRLSR)
What is translation of the OA Joint?
Right Translation =Left sidebending
Left translation = Right sidebending
What Type of Motion does the AA joint Display?
50% cervical Rotation
How is the AA joint Diagnosed?
passively rotate head in Flexed position
Diagnose in the position of ease
EX: (AARL)
What type of Mechanics and motion does the Typical cervicals display?
Fryettes rule: Type II like mechanics (sidebending and rotation are always to the same side)
What is the translation of the typical cervicals?
Right translation = left sidebending
Left translation = right sidebending
How is the typical cervicals diagnosed?
position of ease find spinous process palpate transverse process palpate articular pillar translate back and forth from left to right Ex: (C3 SR RR)
