A
  • Role of podiatrist
  • Neuropathy and PAD
  • What tests we perform
  • Their current status (Low/Moderate/High)
  • How often we need to see them
  • Daily footcare education
  • monitor any concerns and seek medical assistance

Why does neuropathy occur?

A
  • High BGL can cause damage to small vessel which supply nutrients to the nerve
  • Nerve are extremely sensitive to any change in their oxygen and nutrients
  • If they don’t receive adequate oxygen and nutrients the will die

First signs

  • numbness and burning sensation
  • left untreated complete loss of feeling (LOPS)
