a condition in which the amount of sugar in the blood is too high for too long. Blood glucose levels are controlled by insulin which is produced by the pancreas. If not enough insulin is produced or it does not work properly glucose levels rise and the individual will be diagnosed as a diabetic.

This is when the body is unable to produce enough or any insulin. This is managed by insulin injections and is more likely diagnosed before the age of forty. This ca be generic and it is naturally developed.

This is when the body cant produce enough insulin to cope with the sugar levels. This is controlled by diet. Type 2 often occurs in people over forty. This is developed through lifestyle.
