What is the function of Pran vaha srotas?
Carries the breath to all parts of the body

Transports solid & liquid foods

Transports water

Duodenum, a little above and left side of umbilicus

Gall Bladder, below the liver
What is Pawanashaya and where is it seated?
Large Intestine, below the Agnshaya/Grahani
- ऊध्वमर् ग्न्याशयो नाभेवार्मभागे व्यविस्थतः ।
- तस्योप�र �तलं �ेयं तदधः पवनाशयः ।।
Little above and left side of umbilicus is the place of Agnashaya (pachk agni) and this is the place in Ayurveda called Grahani (duodenum). Ashaya means hollow place
Without vitiation in duodenum, celiac disease doesn’t occur. Unhealthy eating or wrong postpartum care is cause of celiac
- मलाशयस्त्वधस्तस्य बिस्तमूत्रर् ाशयः स्मतृ ः ।
- जीवरकताशयमुरो �ेयाः सप्ताशयास्त्वमी ।।
- Below Pawanashaya, it is Malashaya (seat of feces - Anus). Below Malashaya, it is Mutrashaya (Urinary bladder- Basti). Jiva- Raktashaya resides in the chest and its seat is the heart.
- These are seven Ashayas (organs) in men (Pitta Shaya, Agna Shaya, Pawana Shaya, Mala Shaya, Mutra Shaya and Rakta Shaya) while women have more three more Ashyas and they are Gharbhashay (uterus), and two stanas or breasts or stana shayas (breast).
