42 trains a day, 2 hours to London. 170 miles to London and new road infrastructure ha been built. Offices 3km from Exeter airport and daily flights to London and major UK cities.
What is the environment like in Devon?
Sunny part of UK, good outdoor lifestyle in the area and 2/3 of Devon is considered an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Why did they locate there in link to Land prices?
Sq foot price per year is £9 but in London it is £90.
What about the locals?
Lack of housing in area which pushes locals out, house prices have exploded.
What has the MET office done to Devon?
Provided multiplier effect.
What is good for the employees?
They were given grants to help them move home and there is a huge number of outdoor leisure.
What is the population of Devon like?
Lots of retired people.
What allowed the MET office to move to Devon?
Lots of computers, weather forecasting and analysis.
