15 months
Gross Motor: walks well, stoops to pick up toy, may run or walk up steps
Fine Motor: scribbles, stacks 2 blocks
Social: uses spoon and fork, “helps” in housework, shows empathy and affection.
Language: says 3-6 words, follows commands
18 months
Gross Motor: runs, kicks ball, walks backward, sit in appropriate sized chair
Fine Motor: makes tower of 4 cubes
Social: imitates parents, feeds doll with bottle
Language: says 5-10 words, speech is not all understandable to strangers, can point to a picture in a book when asked
Cognitive: mature means-end reasoning
finds the doll behind the blanket, gets the raisin out of the bottle, games of push the button out pop the jack-in-the box.
24 months
Gross Motor: walks down stairs with both feet on each step, kicks ball independently, throws overhand
Fine Motor: stacks 6 blocks, imitates circle and single line (drawing)
Social: parallel play
Language: puts two words together, points to pictures, knows body parts, 50 words Language is 50% understandable by strangers.
36 months
Gross Motor: walks steps alternating feet and no rail, balances on one foot for 3 secs, catches ball, pedals tricycle
Fine Motor: stacks 8 blocks, wiggles thumb, copies circle, can string beads
Social: starts to share, fears imaginary things
Problem Solving: uses spoon well, puts on T-shirt, draws a 2-3 part person, knows own gender
Language: names body parts, knows 200+ words, can say three word sentences, 75% of speech is understandable , uses plurals and pronouns.
30 months
Gross Motor: walks up-stairs holding rail with alternating feet, jumps in place
Fine Motor: 8 cube tower, makes a train of cubes with stack
Social: imitates adult activities
Problem Solving: washes hands, puts things away, brushes teeth with assistance, points to small details in pictures
Language: echolalia, jargoning, refers to self with correct pronoun, understands 2 step commands, vocab of 100 words.
48 months
Gross Motor: balances on one foot 4-8 secs, hops on one foot, gallops, throws ball overhand ~10 ft
Fine Motor: copies square, writes first part of name, ties a knot
Social: Has a preferred friend, group play, can take turns in a game, magical thinking
Language: Uses 300-1,000 words, 100% understandable speech, strings full sentences together to tell stories
Problem Solving: follows 3 step commands, goes to toilet alone, brushes teeth alone, uses fork well, can use clothing with buttons.
