What does UK Sport do
Develops high performance sport in the UK aiming to develop strategies to increase sporting excellence

How does UK sport achieve their aims
- Provide funding to NGB’s so they can operate a World Class Programme across all sports
- Funding to athletes via an Athlete Performance award
- Funds the NIS or EIS and Olympic prep camps
- Runs Talent ID programmes
What does the national institute of sport do
They are owned by UK sport and provide services to NGB’s. Their primary role is to increase the probability of potential elite athletes being successful.

- May miss late developers
- Requires high levels of funding
- Require large numbers of testing
- No guarantee of success
- Many sports are in the same talent pool
