Development: femur Flashcards
what are the FP movements
coxa valga and vara
what is coxa valga
increased angel of inclination (goes in pair with genu vaRUM. like strawberries and choc)
what is coxa vara
decreased angel of inclination (goes in pair with genu valGUM. like strawberries and choc)
what are the TP movements
anteVERSION/ retroVERSION
anteTORSION/ retroTORSION
What is anteVERSION
HOF/NOF tilted further towards ant. aspect of body (position!!)
What is retroVERSION
HOF/NOF tilted further towards bum (position!!)
What is anteTORSION
medial TWIST of distal end of femur
What is retroTORSION
lateral TWIST of distal end of femur and/or lack of medial torsion
are TORSION and VERSION meant to offset each other?
yes
How do you measure femoral TORSION?
Ryders test
What is the Ryders test formula
IF medially rotated = Ryders findings + (15-20)
IF laterally rotated = Ryders findings - (15-20)
- *15-20 is the assumed anteVERSION
- **this formula gives you the degree of TORSION.
What TP motion would you have if you are 1.out toeing 2. pronating
anteVERSION
retroTORSION
What TP motion would you have if you are 1. kissing knees 2. supinated
RetroVERSION
anteTORSION
