Inequalities in development between and within countries?
Desert: Droughts, lack of rainfall which impacts agriculture
Landlocked countries: don’t have access to oceans and therefore the trade routes these provide
Slave trade: reduces population and workforce
Corruption (bribery): reduces development by restricting economic growth and activity
Natural disasters: damage buildings, infrastructure and creates cost for repair
Mountains: relief (the shape of the land) of the land makes it hard to build and have agriculture.
Drilling: Supply of valuable natural resources such as minerals, oils, etc.
Conflict: people migrate
Primary sector?
Extracting raw material (e.g mining, oil, minerals) - low income country/lowly developed country
Secondary sector?
Processing the raw materials (e.g oil refinery, separating crude oil, textile industry - making fabrics) - middle income country/developing country
Tertiary sector?
Serving/selling the products (e.g restaurants, clothes restaurants, supermarkets) could also be hotels, schools (they provide a service) - middle income country/developing country
