Think of building in your country or region which are examples of iconic buildings, such as the Pyramids. In my country there are some buildings which are examples of iconic buildings, for example “La Alhambra” which is the most visited monument in Spain, another one could be “La mezquita de Córdoba”. The first one was built in the thirteenth century and the second one in the eighth century, both by the muslims.
Do you like buildings which are functional or aesthetic?
Do you like buildings which are functional or aesthetic? I like buildings that are functional and aesthetic, but if I have to choose I prefer functional ones. Why would I want a beautiful but uncomfortable house?
Do you follow fashion?
Do you follow fashion? No, I don’t. I am not interested in fashion at all. What is more, I can’t understand how is possible that clothes in good condition become rubbish because they are old fashioned. The fashion world is too artificial and superficial and this is the reason why I don’t like it.
What do you think of architecture today?
What do you think of architecture today? I think that today’s architecture is very interesting and surprising but a bit dysfunctional. We can see beautiful buildings like “Palacio de las Artes y las Ciencias” in Valencia, but two years ago we were able to find out that this building had some construction problems.
Is fashion design just a way of making money?
Is fashion design just a way of making money? Yes I think so. When we see a fashion show, we realize that it is impossible to wear this kind of clothes, so design is just a way of making money. What’s more, the price of this kind of clothing is very expensive. “Impossible to wear and expensive”, we may think that only fools would buy something like this.
