Design Flashcards
According to ACAD 02-001, Accreditation of NP Training, the goal of the Design Phase is what?
To specify, in measurable terms, the knowledge and skills that training will develop in the trainee.
What are the four key steps of the Design Phase per ACAD 02-001, Accreditation of NP Training?
- Describe the learning objectives,
- Prepare performance tests.
- Develop methods to observe and measure trainee performance.
- Determine the setting in which training will be conducted.
What does ACAD 02-001, Accreditation of NP Training, mean when it says “Describe the learning objectives?”
Complex subjects have an underlying structure that can simplify learning. This structure needs to be determined, analyzed and organized to enhance learning. Organizing learning objectives to take advantage of the logical relationships and sequence of prerequisite knowledge within the subject reduces the time needed to achieve the learning objectives and is a source of design efficiencies.
What does ACAD 02-001, Accreditation of NP Training, mean when it says “Prepare performance tests?”
These define the cue that initiates task performance, identify the task performance conditions, and establish standards of successful task performance.
Think procedural steps.
What does ACAD 02-001, Accreditation of NP Training, mean when it says “Develop methods to observe and measure trainee performance?”
Develop evaluation methods such as: written test questions, oral examinations, laboratory evaluations, job performance measures, task performance evaluations, on-the-job evaluations, and simulator evaluations.
What does ACAD 02-001, Accreditation of NP Training, mean when it says “Determine the setting in which training will be conducted?”
The training environment is determined based on the knowledge and skill requirements.
EN-TQ-201-02, SAT Design Phase has two major sections to provide direction on what?
- 3 - Develop Learning Objectives
5. 4 - Develop Evaluation Items
Who approves objectives and how is the approval documented?
Per EN-TQ-201-02, SAT Design Phase step 5.3[3] approval is by the line program owner or designee with the designee being a line superintendent or SME. Approval is documented in Vision db.
Training settings and methods of instruction are based on what?
Per EN-TQ-201-02, SAT Design Phase, the enabling objectives.
If developing an examination to be delivered through LMS, how many questions per objective?
Should be three per EN-TQ-201-02, SAT Design Phase.
What do Terminal Objectives due?
- State the expected trainee response post training.
- Multiple terminal objectives can be created.
- Designed by combining conditions, behaviors and standards (if necessary)
What are conditions as related to terminal objectives?
These are the conditions that will exist at time of performance such as plant operating mode, equipment status, tools/references available, etc.
What are behaviors as related to terminal objectives?
This is what the trainee is expected to do and is required to be observable and measurable. Can be cognitive or psychomotor actions.
What are standards as related to terminal objectives?
The required quantity or quality of trainee action, could be step-by-step process with no deviation, could be implied or it could be the product of trainee performance and factors for judging that product. It is not completion of an exam or TPE.
What are the three domains of objectives?
- Cognitive (knowledge)
- Affective (attitudes)
- Psychomotor (motor skills)
