What is psoriasis?
A chronic inflammatory skin disease caused by the hyperproliferation of keratinocytes
What symptoms show is psoriasis?
Scaly plaques, lesion, nail changes
What treatments are there for psoriasis?
Emollients, topical therapies, oral therapies e.f. Infliximab, phototherapy
What is atopic eczema?
An inflammatory skin condition with papules and vesicles on the erythematous base.
What are some symptoms of eczema?
Itchy, dry, scaly patches
Shows in the flexors in adults and face/limbs in children
What are some causes of eczema?
Family history of eczema, asthma, hay fever
Defect in the skin barrier
Environmental - food, dust, pets, climates, stress
What % of childhood have eczema?

What are some therapies for eczema?
Immunosuppressants Oral therapies Antibiotics Steroids Emollients
What is acne?
An inflammatory disease of pilosebaceous follicle
What is the most common cause of acne?
Hormonal

What are some symptoms of acne?
Non-inflammatory lesions (blackheads/whiteheads)

On face, chest, upper back
What are some treatments for acne?
