What is the best topical treatment for chronic plaque psoriasis?
High potency corticosteroids followed by topical vitamin D analogs. They are equally effective when compared head-to-head but the corticosteroids produce fewer local reactions.

What is the recommended treatment for lichen planus?
First wind treatment is with high potency topical corticosteroids such as clobetasol. Topical calcineurin inhibitors, including tacrolimus, can be used in cases not responding to topical corticosteroids.
