 Make sure you read and understand this part.

Diagnosis (or diagnostic hypothesis!)
 Look for ‘probability of certainty’ of diagnosis
 ‘Slam dunk’- specific diagnosis
 ‘Compatible’, ‘Consistent’, Generic tumor type (round cell, mesenchymal cell)

Comments
 Should provide prognosis in terms of probability
> Statistical information on clinical outcome: – not ‘malignant’, ‘poor prognosis’
> Metastatic rate, Progression free interval, Disease free interval, 12 and 24 month survival,
> Median survival is problematic.

 Name based on phenotype (what the cells look like or
express)
 Usually reflects ‘cell of origin’
 Based on latest Fascicles and consensus papers.
 Choose your preferred pathologist!
