cover for anaerobes with flagyl or clinda
meningococcemia rash
abx for prophylaxis of close contacts?
rifampin x 2 days
7 days before onset, 24 hours after starting abx
treatment for early lyme disease (erythema migrans)
doxycycline x 10 days
OR
amoxil x 14 days
treatment for rocky mountain spotted fever?
doxy in ALL AGES
*do not delay treatment until testing confirmed
early treatment with doxy is critical for survival
infectious period of chickenpox?
contagious 1-2 days before onset of rash until all lesions crusted over
