Depth Perception Flashcards
Types of oculomotor cues
Convergence and Accommodation
Visual cues
Monocular cues and Binocular cues
Monocular cues
static cues, and motion-induced cues
Features of Monocular cues
interposition, size, height on image, texture gradient, Atmospheric perspective, linear perspective
What is deletion?
Gradual hiding of an object
What is accretion?
Gradual revealing of an object
What is binocular Disparity
The difference in images between the 2 eyes. It occurs when images are closer or more distant from the fixation point.
What is the difference between uncrossed and crossed disparity?
Uncrossed the object is father than fixation, crossed the object is closer than the fixation point
What is the correspondence problem?
How do we match an image seen in one eye with the image of the same object stimulating non-corresponding points in the other eye
Stereo blindness
due to the strabismus (eyes not properly aligned can cause amblyopia or lazy eye)
